2020 Ford Ranchero: Concept, Specs, Images, and Price. Coupe/utes were pretty popular vehicles in the past, thanks to their good balance between performances and practicality. They disappear from the market decades ago and left space for something more versatile. Still, it looks like we are about to see them once again. The new Chevy El Camino has been rumored and we can hear same kinds of stories about the 2020 Ford Ranchero Older generations definitely remember this nameplate, which was in use for decades. It was a typical coupe/ute of that era and the most amazing thing is that the new model is expected to come in a pretty much same manner. If we can rely on the latest reports, the new model could arrive already in the next year. Still, keep in mind that these are just rumors.
2020 Ford Ranchero Engines
The 2020 Ford Ranchero will stick to the company’s proven units and presume that at least two engines will be in the offer. Most likely, base models will come with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost unit, tuned to around 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
Of course, more capable versions should come. One of the engines that comes to mind is a 3.5-liter V6, good for about 365 horsepower. Some reports are also suggesting a V8 version, which doesn’t sound impossible either.
In any case, all engines will come in pair with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Don’t exclude the possibility to see some form of an electrified version in the future.
2020 Ford Ranchero Design
As we already mentioned, the new 2020 Ford Ranchero is still just a rumor but all reports are suggesting the same design approach, which will stick to the nameplate’s traditional manner. This would mean a typical coupe/ute, based on a unibody platform. Speaking of the platform, the new model will probably ride on Ford’s new RWD architecture, which debuted with the new Explorer. This platform will also underprint the next-generation Mustang, which is expected to come in a year or two.
The two models, Mustang and Ranchero, are about to share a lot of things, particularly in terms of mechanics. Count on similar suspension setup, same wheelbase and most of the parts shared. On the other side, we don’t expect that much similarities in terms of aesthetics. Most likely, the company will keep the famous muscle car exclusive, while the new 2020 Ford Ranchero would follow the brand’s typical design language, which can be found in other vehicles in the lineup.
When it comes to interior design, there is no place for surprises. Count on a typical coupe/ute layout, which means a single row cabin design, with seating capacity just for two. Still, there’s a chance to see a three-seat version in the offer. In any case, the overall cabin layout should stick to what we usually see in Ford models. A typical dashboard layout, typical instrument cluster and typical trim level organization. On the other side, the cargo bed will be pretty spacious, due to a single row cabin layout and a quite long wheelbase, which will be shared with the new Mustang.
2020 Ford Ranchero Release Date
At this point, the all-new 2020 Ford Ranchero is just a rumor. We are still waiting to hear anything from the officials, while unofficial reports suggest it could come already in the next year. Take the new model with a big reserve. If it ever arrives, the starting price will probably go around 30.000 dollars. Of course, the key rival would be another rumored comeback model, Chevy El Camino.
